Time, as we know it, began for us when the Alpha (Beginning) and Omega (End) created the heavens and the earth. It will end when God creates new heavens and a new earth at the end of the Millennium. At that time, eternity for mankind will begin.
The Millennium is a thousand-year period on this - the existing Earth - in which Christ will rule mankind with a “rod of iron.” During that time, Satan is bound in the bottomless pit. At the end of the period, he is released, deceives man again, and together, they rise up against Christ, but are then defeated again. Satan is cast into the Lake of Fire where the Antichrist and the False Prophet have been since the end of the Tribulation.
I think of the end of time as that period leading up to and including the 7-year Tribulation, culminating in the return of Christ. No one knows the day and hour Christ will return. But, in light of the state of our world today, it seems fairly certain that the end of time is near.
As Christ predicted, we are seeing an increase in wars and rumors of wars, famines, pestilences, and earthquakes (see Matthew 24). Anyone who watches the news today can attest that the world is plagued by an increasing number of natural upheavals.
Christ also said that the love of many people would grow cold in the end of time because of the proliferation of sin. That two-thousand-year-old prediction seems to have come true with our generation. Granted, since time began, there have been wicked men on earth. But now, sin seems to be everywhere. Who can avoid it with all the enticements thrown at us, day in and day out, through the countless mediums available to man? Christ, again, said that endtime-man would be exceedingly wicked as he was in the days of Noah and the days of Lot. I, for one, believe we are there.
Christ linked sin and a lack of love, because when sin abounds, love fades away. Anyone breathing knows there isn’t much love in our world, except self love. The religion of self-love - humanism - has spread like an aggressive cancer around the world, including in America. The pandemic push for individual and group rights has played no small part in the exacerbation of sin and its consequent impact on our ability or willingness to love beyond our own selfish selves.
With the uneasy feeling that the world is in trouble, comes the fear that mankind may not survive as a civilization. Then follows a compulsion to find a cure for all that ails us or, better yet, a leader who can do it. Given today's ungodly and anti-American push toward globalism, many (especially non-Christians) believe that the cure will be in the form of a global world leader - a savior, if you will. This so-called savior will be, in fact, none other than the Antichrist. Still, globalization requires that all nations submit to global rules and international laws - and yes, that includes America.
Of late and of grave concern to patriots, America appears poised to surrender much of her sovereignty, along with her economic and military supremacy, to world organizations. Hated by much of the world, the relentless target of terrorists, on the verge of bankruptcy and severe global status reduction, the American eagle is surely falling. But this fall must occur before the end of time, because at that point, all nations will gather against Israel for the final battle: Armageddon. Sadly, that includes America. Because the fall seems inevitable, I feel this is a clear indication that the end is near.
The end of time is closing in on an unsuspecting world, as I explore in more detail in my recently-published book, America's Role in Armageddon. My message is an urgent one: all of us need to approach these times with the intent to transform our own spiritual selves as we pursue the model walk before our God - the walk of holiness.
